Callaway Golf 2020 Mavrik Driver (Right Hand, Project X Evenflow Riptide 50G, Light, 10.5 Degree)

I demo’d the Mavrik on the range; was not impressed enough to spend the money, although it seemed a little longer and straighter. A month later, I took it to the course for a trial, and that’s where it really shines. Bad strikes with my GBB Epic were short smothered pull hooks and huge 50 yard slices. I hit one on heel of the Mavrik: ball still ends up in the fairway, almost no distance lost. Toe hook, I expect it to go hard left in the rough about 170; no, in the first cut at 200. Catch one in the middle, my Epic would go 230; the Mavrik:245. My only problem is the Mavrik is harder to shape shots, but if you just line it up, it goes where it’s aimed. Amazing. The Riptide 5.5 shaft feels firm and stable, very controllable. Confident.
